Inside Blackburn Championship Wrestling!

Inside Blackburn Championship Wrestling
Wrestle Radio Now unexpectedly uncovered the newest wrestling federation in the DC Metropolitan area, Blackburn Championship Wrestling (BCW). Today, I am going to give you an inside look at the electrifying experience that BCW delivered to me while having a beer at my favorite local hangout, "Chapala Blue Beetle Rock Bar." I guess you could call me a regular at Chapala’s, so I was more than surprised to see that BCW was putting on their second show that evening, "Slamrock Fest." I had never witnessed such an intense energy at Chapala’s before. The bar was filled to maximum capacity with fans and the excitement was contagious! Before that evening I had never even heard of BCW; apparently their very first show, "Devil's Night" took place on Halloween in 2015 at a totally different venue. However, this first experience stoked both my anticipation for the next event and my curiosity about the production itself. Couple that with being a wrestling blogger and I just had to bring you a closer look!

BCW’s Slamrock Fest gave me the opportunity to meet the promotion's Heavyweight Champion at the time, "Bloodbath Brian." Bloodbath’s passion and drive at Slamrock Fest solidified my appreciation for the champ. As it turns out Bloodbath is currently training at another promotion, Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) in Joppa, MD. “Retribution,” BCW’s third event at Chapala’s, allowed me to meet "Swirl Daddy Sarno" and "King Raymond.” Bloodbath Brian lost the BCW Heavyweight Championship to Swirl Daddy Sarno that night in a best of 2/3 falls match. After watching Swirl Daddy win the title, I was looking forward to having a few words with him. This guy is full of personality. I later found a video online of him on stage with a local rock band named "Kill Lincoln" at Washington D.C.'s famous "Black Cat" club. In the video, Swirl Daddy leaps off the stage and surfs the crowd in his full ring attire and BCW Heavyweight Championship belt. He even creates a mosh pit and starts using his Championship belt to strike fans! When I later asked him about the incident in an informal interview, he ferociously said to me, "Hey Ed Raj P., if you're not down with Swirl Daddy and the Swirl Nation you can get struck by my title belt too!!" I had no choice but to pledge my allegiance to the Swirl Nation and quickly scurry away. I didn’t think that he was kidding!

BCW's King Raymond

That night after Retribution King Raymond accepted my request to give Wrestle Radio Now a behind-the-scenes look at BCW. He graciously invited me over to his very own training facility the following day for a tour of "The King's Castle." King Raymond exclaimed that for the past five years he has been hailed King of Burtonsville, MD. His quest is to bring royalty to the BCW Heavyweight Championship. It's rumored that King Raymond will face-off against Swirl Daddy Sarno for the BCW Heavyweight Championship at the promotion's next event, "The Blue Beetle Beatdown."

In addition to these mighty dudes, I learned that BCW has a growing roster of aspiring professional wrestlers who may be performing at the next event! We might see a tag team match between "The Package Deal" and the "YAK Squad." The YAK squad, or "You Already Know" squad consists of former band members turned amateur wrestlers; Swirl Daddy Sarno and “Steve ET.” The dirtiest player in the game, "Dirt Head" just might fight “G-Eazy” in a no rules singles match! BCW will also be introducing the "Natty Brohs" for the very first time, and we also might see a special appearance from the "Bedlam Brawler!"

All this and much more will take place at BCW's Blue Beetle Beatdown! Scheduled on August 26, 2016 at 7:00 PM EST at Chapala Blue Beetle Rock Bar and Restaurant located at 15530 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD 20866. Come one, come all, for a once in a lifetime experience that you will not want to miss!!!
