Hell in a Cell Primer

Understanding WWE's annual Hell in a Cell pay per view isn't for the faint of heart. Hell in a Cell showcases 2 wrestlers competing in a 20 foot-high roofed steel cage that encapsulates the ring. Tomorrow night's installment to the series is sure to provide you with far more fear, excitement, and terror than your favorite scary movie. Professional wrestlers who have competed in the cage seen below have suffered unimaginable injuries and pain. It isn't a coincidence that since it's inception in 2009; the event is held in the month of October. The program is considered to be one of the most popular and anticipated events among the WWE Universe today. Have you purchased your subscription to the WWE Network?

Hell in a Cell Wrestle Radio NOW!
Hell in a Cell began as a match on October 5, 1997, and featured Superstars; The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. The match was set to identify the #1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This match took place during WWE's Bad Blood pay per view. It is notable because it was the debut of The Undertaker's brother, 'The Big Red Machine' Kane.

The third and most famous Hell in a Cell match featured The Undertaker vs. Mick Foley. This match consisted of countless violent and disturbing visuals. It took place during the 1998 King of the Ring pay per view series. To understand this match in it's entirety feel free to reference my article entitled, 'Epic Matches: Volume 1' for a full review.

Although various other WWE Superstars have competed in 28 Hell in a Cell matches to date. The Undertaker and Triple H have made the most appearances. The Undertaker has made 12 appearances in his career, and Triple H has made 9. I personally think that we just might see The Undertaker return tomorrow in this dreadful monstrosity...

Tomorrow night we will witness match 29. Dean Ambrose is set to face Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins in the next chapter of their rivalry. Match 30 will feature John Cena vs. Randy Orton to discover the #1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Don't miss watching for the first time, or reliving these jaw-dropping classic matches the same way I did. I encourage you to sign up to the WWE Network today for only $9.99!
