Hitman Appreciation Night on RAW (Memorial Day 2013)

After much anticipation I have finally decided to blog about my all-time favorite past and present time - Wrestling in the WWE.  As many of my friends, family, and followers know I am a Wrestling enthusiast.
ERP WRESTLING RADIO 2014
Most of my closest friends still wonder in amazement how a 32 year old man with a professional career still appreciates WWE Wrestling so much?  "Ed, you know it's fake - right?"  "Ed, you know that you can watch the UFC for real extreme fighting."  "Ed, you know you got to grow up already!"  The truth is, I just don't agree with them.  For starters; although the story lines are purely a "story" the "bumps" Pro Wrestler's take are very real.  I am a fan of the UFC, but I don't believe a TLC match (Table's, Ladder's, and Chair's) isn't just as extreme as watching a UFC pay-per-view.  Lastly, Wrestling is the only thing that I watch on TV these days that takes me back to feeling like a kid again.  So there you have it, let me have my moment... When John Cena mentions in the beginning of the episode being in the home of Bret Hart, I got chills...

I chose this particular Monday Night Raw to blog about because as you many of you know; Bret "Hitman" Hart is by far my favorite Superstar of all time.  This episode is Bret Hart appreciation night on RAW.  Moreover, this episode takes place in Calgary, Alberta, CA - the home of Stu Hart's famous Stampede Wrestling territory and his training "Dungeon".  Numerous WWE stars, pay-per-view ideas, special match handicap's, and more came specifically from this territory.  More importantly this is the first RAW I missed after attending my first ever Wrestlemania - Wrestlemania 29 (MetLife Stadium in New Jersey).  I serendipitously found this particular Raw on Amazon.com by accident.  I used serendipitous as a term on purpose because that week of May 27, 2013 is when things started going downhill in my personal life.  Perhaps, it was because I took my mind away from wrestling?  Perhaps, I took my focus off of wrestling with my personal and professional problems head on?  Whatever it was today is one of the many days on the road to my recovery, and it all starts by documenting what is important to me.  Right now, it's Curtis Axel - Mr. Perfect's son.  Mr. Perfect was such a special Superstar to me; because he is arguably one of the first Superstars to put Hitman "over" (Hitman vs. Perfect for the Intercontinental Championship August 26, 1991).  Axel is getting over big right now by the crowd, and alot of his fame is due to his dad, yes.  But, it's also due to him being managed by Paul Heymann (former CEO of the ECW).  Paul Heymann has already made it to my top 5 favorite managers of all time (ask me about that later).  Wow, Cena is out here talking trash and Ryback just shut him up by referring to himself as Satan himself - that's kind of crazy.

Match 1:  Alberto Del Rio vs Big E. Langston.
Big E. is a big ass Jamaican with a ginormous chest.  Del Rio is a worker, and held that World Heavyweight Championship with class.... this match is kind of boring, and I dont appreciate Big E's speedo.  The guy is walking around with a Rikishi wedgie all match.  Del Rio wins the match and AJ is talking shit to Big E.  He won by stunning the big fella, and tied him up for the 1.2.3.

Stay tuned for more wrestling news and part two of Hitman Appreciation Night... for now, i'm out!
