EXTRA: NXT Superstars Revolutionize WWE

The WWE Network hit a home run on Thursday night with 'NXT Takeover: R Evolution.' It's 1 of the best produced WWE programs of 2014.

NXT is WWE's developmental territory for tomorrow's Superstars. They stream an in-ring wrestling show every Thursday night on the WWE Network. 'NXT Arrival' was the 1st special episode of the 'NXT Takeover' series. The brand released 4 special episodes this year; 1 per quarter, and R Evolution was the brand's 4th special episode. All 4 of the events took place at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

Corey Graves returned to the R Evolution pre show where he announced his official in-ring retirement. Graves used to play the role of a smug and arrogant heel. In the ring he was a solid technician. He joined the NXT commentators table along with Rich Brennan and Alex Riley.

A couple of years ago I went to Fan Axxess at WrestleMania XXIX. NXT was taping a show and I had the privilege of standing front row for it. Graves methodically made eye contact with everyone in the audience during his entrance. The little boy next to us was heckling all of the wrestlers. In the middle of his match; Graves shot around to the boy's jeers, and stared him down. The little boy looked intimidated and immediately shut his mouth. The scene was hilarious. I am glad to note Graves will still be involved with NXT.

I started watching NXT on the WWE Network around this time last year. I purchased my T-shirt over the summer. Eventually I began following the Superstars on Twitter and Instagram. I used to pay little attention to their posts, but R Evolution turned me into a legitimate fan. Now, I 'Bolieve.'

JoJo's ring announcing skills were impressive. Her sound and presence immediately stole my attention. Currently she's my crush on Instagram.

'KO' Kevin Owens scored a knock-out in his debut performance. Owens' charisma was gripping as he appeared angry at all times. His violent and dangerous stunts were thrilling. Owens left the ring a bloody mess after winning his match.

Finn Balor literally left me speechless. His new character is unique. His entrance was riveting. He reminded of the Marvel comic book character, 'Venom.' Balor competed in a tag team match along with Hideo Itami. Their special tag team finisher looked like something out of a video game. Indescribable.

Charlotte and Sasha Banks performed in a 1st class Divas match. Charlotte is the daughter of Ric Flair. She is really athletic. Sasha's 'I'm Not Ratchet' T-shirt was clever. Her performance was entertaining, comical and dramatic. In the end Ms. Charlotte retained her NXT Women's Championship.

NXT's current champion is Adrian Neville. Neville is from the UK and carries himself with rude boy swagger. At all times he's ultra confident on beast-mode.

The main event featured Sami Zayn vs. Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship. It was billed a 'Career match' for Zayn. The stipulation was if Zayn lost he would be forced to retire. As usual both of these Superstars stole the show. Zayn won the match in a dramatic and inspiring victory. He shed tears of joy after winning.

Zayn is the new NXT Champion...but wait, Kevin Owens is back and he wants to fight. 'This. Is. Awesome.'

Last night's event was special for many more reasons so, be sure to check it out. I foresee a bright future for all of the hungry Superstars featured on NXT.
